Running Injuries / MOT
It’s relatively easy to pop on the trainers and head out for a run. But whether you’re new to running or a seasoned pavement pounder, running injuries are all too common – and often preventable.
If you’ve a recurring injury or niggle, are training for a particular event or want to check for any underlying issues, then seeing a Physio is a fundamental part of your training.
We want to keep you running further, more efficiently and pain-free for longer.
How services can help
The repetitive nature of running can often highlight or exaggerate natural imbalances we have in our body – whether these were caused from a previous injury, an area of weakness or as a result of our lifestyle (think sitting at a desk).
We look at your training/exercise history, any previous injuries and overall health. We complete an in-depth assessment of the joints and muscles specific to running and relationship to the whole body. We look at your footwear and discuss any specific running goals you may have.
You’ll leave the session with specific strategies to minimise the risk of injury and with a tailored pain to address any underlying issues.
If required, we can recommend a number of additional treatments or preventative measures, including manual therapy, pilates, yoga or personal training.
